Privacy Policy - Paperslate Application
General Privacy Statement
At Paperslate, we prioritize user privacy and are committed to maintaining a secure and transparent experience. Our application does not collect, store, or process any personal data from users. We do not retain any information on our servers, and no user data is shared or sold to third parties.
Use of Google APIs: Gmail and Google Drive
Paperslate uses the Gmail and Google Drive APIs solely to provide specific features requested by users. These functionalities are designed to be secure and are fully compliant with privacy standards. Below, we outline how we use these APIs and the data involved.
1. User Consent and Permissions via OAuth 2.0
Paperslate uses OAuth 2.0 to request explicit user consent before accessing Google services, such as Gmail and Google Drive. This process ensures that users are fully informed and have control over the permissions they grant. We specify below the data accessed through these APIs and the purposes for each type of access.
2. Use of the Gmail API
- Data Accessed: Temporarily accesses the user’s email address, email content, and any attached files solely for the purpose of sending emails directly from the application.
- Purpose: This feature allows users to share notes, annotated documents, and other files without leaving Paperslate, enhancing convenience and productivity.
- Security and Non-Retention: No email data (addresses, content, attachments) is stored on our servers. All data is processed in real-time for the purpose of sending the email and is immediately deleted once the action is complete. Paperslate retains no user information related to the Gmail API.
3. Use of the Google Drive API
- Data Accessed: Only specific files chosen by the user are accessed for viewing, creating, editing, or deleting. We do not access the user’s full Google Drive content—only files relevant to the application’s functionality.
- Purpose: This feature enables users to manage files within Paperslate for a more integrated experience.
- Security and Non-Retention: No Google Drive data is stored on our servers. Access is limited to the time required to complete the action and is revoked immediately after the task is finished.
4. How User Data is Used
- No General Data Collection: Paperslate does not collect, store, or retain any user data beyond what is temporarily required to fulfill specific requests via the Gmail and Google Drive APIs. There is no data tracking, logging, or general data collection in the application.
- No Sharing or Selling of Data: User data is never shared with third parties or sold. Any data processed through the application remains fully under the user’s control and is deleted once the requested action is completed.
- Commitment to Privacy: All actions involving data are performed securely and strictly to fulfill user requests. No personal information or content is retained beyond the immediate action required.
5. Revocation of Permissions
Users can revoke permissions granted to Paperslate for accessing Gmail and Google Drive at any time through their Google account settings, providing complete control over their data access
